About the Practice
A Client-centered Practice
A client-centered massage practice is one where the massage therapist goes beyond a generic treatment to address the specifics of what has brought you in the door. It means the massage therapist listens well during the intake, asks functional questions, and designs the session accordingly. The massage should demonstrate to the client that they have been heard.
A holistic approach to massage
Holistic massage therapists acknowledge the unique needs of each individual client. With a thorough intake, the massage therapist is able to select different styles of work and tools that will best address what the client booked the massage for. This specially tailored approach to massage therapy results in noticeable and longer lasting results. Many clients return to holistic massage therapists for routine massage to maintain their muscle health and overall wellness.
A place to facilitate healing
Massage is a cumulative process that facilitates healing and better function in the soft tissues. This means that although massage can be incredibly helpful in your healing journey, you will also need to continue that healing at home. Since it took some time to get to this point of pain and dysfunction, it will take some time to resolve it. I encourage my clients to work on strengthening the weak muscles contributing to their pain, along with simple stretches and soft tissue release at home with tools like foam rollers and lacrosse balls. Consistency with self-care will help tremendously over time and when extra help is needed with pain and dysfunction, massage will be so much more effective.
