Arrival Time for Appointments
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early for your first appointment with me at Live Oak Massage so that you can fill out the Health Intake Form and review it with me to create a plan for your massage.
For all following appointments, please plan to arrive at least 5-10 minutes early.
24 Hour Cancellation Policy
For appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled service(s), there is a Late Cancellation Fee equal to 50% the cost of the scheduled service(s), which must be paid in order to schedule any further services with Hannah Listle, LMT.
No-Show Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled massage appointment, then you will be charged a No Show Fee equal to the total cost (100%) of your scheduled service(s). When a client no-shows, I have absolutely no time to fill the time slot you reserved and lose out on that income. The No-Show Fee must be paid in order to schedule any future services with Hannah Listle, LMT.
Appropriate Behavior
I pride myself in my professionalism and expect my clients to behave in a professional manner as well. I provide massage therapy services for therapeutic purposes only. Any inappropriate requests will not be tolerated. I have been practicing massage for over a decade and have taken numerous continuing education courses to advance myself in my career, which I take seriously and have great pride in. For those who are looking for a professional, well-educated, and ethical massage therapist - I am the right fit for you!
Children and Guests
Massage is meant to be relaxing and having guests or children in the room can be stressful and distracting to both you and myself. For this reason, I ask that you have childcare coordinated during the time of your massage. This allows me to provide you with the best possible massage.
With your Deep Tissue massage, will you hurt me?
Not at all!
As a massage therapist based in an over-stressed and over-worked area, a lot of my clients are looking for deep tissue work, which I happily offer. But if a client wants the deepest work possible, I am not the therapist for them. I do not believe in causing pain, or “stress” to the muscle in order to achieve a therapeutic effect, nor do I believe it is necessary. I work within the comfort levels of the client and their muscles to achieve the best results in each massage. My goal is for you to feel you had an excellent therapeutic massage, but that you ere also able to relax.
What’s the difference between relaxation and therapeutic massages?
The main difference is the focus of the massage and the pressure used.
The focus of relaxation massage is just that - to relax you! These massages are wonderful for stress relief, improving your mood, improved circulation of blood and lymph, and an overall sense of wellbeing. The focus of therapeutic massage is to address issues you are having with muscle pain, reduced range of motion, athletic performance, injury recovery, or postural imbalances.
For relaxation massages, the pressure is light to moderate, whereas in therapeutic massage, I generally use moderate to firm pressure. No matter what, I use a pressure that you are comfortable with.
I hate when the therapist talks during the massage - I just want to relax. How do I avoid this?
No worries! I hate this too. I am happy to let you relax in peace during the massage. In fact, I feel I work better when I’m not talking, which is very important to me, as providing the highest quality massages to my clients is my top priority. Not talking also boosts the mental and spiritual benefits of massage for you, the client.
If I’m not comfortable, how do I tell you without being rude?
Simply let me know. I am happy to adjust the pressure of the massage, style of work, bolstering/pillows, music, etc so that you are most comfortable.
I would like to get massage regularly. Can you accommodate this?
Absolutely! Regular massage is a wonderful addition to your wellness routine. The frequency of massage depends on your goals, schedule, and budget. I am happy to make recommendations on the frequency of massage that would best suit your individual needs, but it is always ultimately up to the client. What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash (I do not carry change, so please make sure you will not need any if you choose to pay with cash) and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover). I do not accept checks, nor do I accept any medical insurance, L&I claims, or PIP/auto claims. Payment is due at the time of service.
